Twigs
The other night Kelby came in and asked if he could have a couple of twigs.
ME: "Twigs???? What are you talking about?"
Kelby: "You know those twigs that Dad uses."
ME: "Huh??"
Kelby: "Those things that Dad uses for his ears, you know, Ear Picks or whatever they are"
ME: "Oh, you mean Q-Tips."
Kelby: "Yeah, those things."
My thoughts: Why are they called Q-tips and not Ear Picks. They have "tooth" picks and "hair"picks. We brush our hair with a "hair" brush, and our teeth with a "tooth" brush. I could go on.... I guess they also call them "cotton swabs", but I don't hear that very often. Sometimes language is so difficult.

The Big Day
Where was Levi on his Birthday you ask????
Well, a couple of months ago, Levi was driving home from Scouts and got pulled over by the police. He was going over the posted speed limit enough that it resulted in a wreckless driving charge. (it wasn't his fault, you know that the monster wheels on his huge truck made it look like he was going faster :-)
Anyway.... he got to go to court on his Birthday. Let me tell you how it went.
Levi went in to the courtroom with a shirt and tie and looked clean-cut ( he went and got a haircut Monday night). He had already paid for and completed a driver improvement course (all on his own). Well, the first kid that went before the judge was wearing a baggy black t-shirt and basketball shorts. He was told to "watch it". The other kid that the judge saw while we were there, was a girl who was wearing a low-scoop shirt, some kind of skin-tight pant with shorts over them (looked like she needed to be on a street corner). She was slapped on the hand and told not to do it again. Levi (the clean-cut kid) was given 16 hours community service, and has to attend "the court" driver improvement course -- along with a parent (what did I wrong?). So, I guess it doesn't pay to attempt to be responsible when you make a mistake because you will be treated just like or worse than everybody else. (sorry, this Mom had to vent -- I still expect responsibility from my kids).
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Levi!
