Wildlife Venture

Last weekend we went for a "little" ride. We ended up going over the Bay Bridge onto the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We drove to a wildlife preserve on a little island.

The highlight of the wildlife preserve was the swans. You can see two of them in the front of this picture and if you look in the background, all of the white dots are also swans.

On the way off the island we saw a bald eagle and nest in a tree.

A little closer ...

Even closer! This picture is for my parents. It is my new Ford Escape. I love it!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

Guess who forgot that it was St. Patty's Day?? Apparently it was Mom.. she didn't remind everyone to wear green.
Kelby, being the creative kid that he is, used a $1 bill (that he probably found in my purse) and he made a makeshift "lucky charm ring".
Pretty ingenious don't ya think?
Many people celebrate by eating corn beef & cabbage, etc. My family ate beef stew (or whatever they fixed) and I got to drink the lovely flavored drink in preparation for a colonoscopy on the 18th. My big treat was in honor of St. Patty's Day and that was GREEN JELLO! Yum!

Snow Day!

Last week we had some really nice weather. I was able to open the windows and get some fresh air .... ahhh, nice.
A couple mornings later, this is what we woke up to.
We got 6-8 inches of snow. To most of you, that is nothing, however for my kids that amount of of snow is the most they'd ever seen in person. School was cancelled and I think the kids went through 6 pairs of jeans each before the day was over. They loved exploring and pegging each other with snowballs.
This is looking out the little window by the front door.
The birds appreciated the little bit of seed we had left in the feeder. We had a variety of birds and a couple of squirrels camped out on the front porch for a couple of days.
Enjoyed the snow, though it was enough for now.

You have to break us in easy.

The Great Escape

On Tuesday, our front door was found wide open and Jasper & Diego were sunning themselves on the front porch. They stayed on the porch due to the fact that there was snow everywhere else (luckily). So they were herded inside and I was mumbling something about kids not closing doors all the way, etc., when not five minutes later, the door was open AGAIN and the same two cats were on the porch. There were no kids home!?!

We have lever handles on our doors. We knew it was only a matter of time until one of the cats decided that they could open the doors. I figured it was Jasper so I ran and got my camera. Much to my surprise, Diego showed his new talent and the mystery is now solved. Sorry about the video ... I was hiding around the corner and turned the camera sideways. Lesson learned.

Love the SUN!!
