What do you want to be??

We had ward conference today. The stake leaders taught the youth. Our Stake Young Women's President is a Batallion Chief for the fire department. She needed assistance with an object lesson and Kelby was the only young man who was small enough to fit into her boots, so he helped her.
She kept pulling more equipment out of her bag...
And he is finally suited up. I was scared that he was going to fall over backwards because of the weight of the air tank, etc.
Wish I would have had my camera for better pictures. Nellysa took these with my cell phone.

Tour the Enterprise with Captain Kirk

Kelby's Boy Scout Troop toured the USS Enterprise on Monday as part of their Citizenship in the Nation merit badge. Kirk was their tour guide. I think they really enjoyed it.
Learning about the chain and anchor up in the chain room (I know that isn't the proper name of the room, but I don't know how to spell folksel???)
On the flight deck looking down on the elevator. On the left side of the picture is "Dolly". She is the crane that moves everything!
The new lookout!
Kirk explaining how the ship operates from up on the Captain's Bridge.
... and if you get lost, just look at these thousands of #'s on each wall of the ship and it will tell you right where you are! (easy for you you to say)
We leave as the sun sets on the 65.

Mini Youth Conference

Our Stake had a mini Youth Conference this past weekend. After everybody registered, we all went in the gym and ate dinner. After dinner, I was just sitting at the table watching the youth and I noticed that about every-other person sitting at the table had one MP3 earpiece in their ear with the other earpiece in the ear of the person next to them like in the picture below. How times have changed.... back in my day, we had to put a seashell to our ear to hear music :-)

There was a youth dance and Nellysa was just dancing up a storm (not). This is proof that she did however dance and proof that she can smile.
On Saturday, the kids did service projects out in the community and then we all went back to the stake center and watched the funeral of President Gordon B. Hinkley.
