Eagle Project
Levi's Eagle project began on April 13. The kids were out of school for spring break and there was quite a crew there. They started by digging up the sod. They dug...
...and they dug, and dug...

...and they dug post holes and set the posts. Some people were not very enthusiastic about this process.

Then they measured and leveled.

Yea!! We are through with day 1.
"I'm not tired"Is that cement comfortable Levi?
Day 2
How many guys does it take to put up a board??

Spring?? or Winter Break??
"Spring Break" started on Friday. On Saturday, we decided to go on a day trip. The weather tried to be cooperative (for every situation). For the first time all season, we had snow that actually accumulated on the ground -- briefly!

Very interesting day trip!
The kids had fun throwing snowballs at each other.....and me.

Our trip included driving through Yorktown, down the Colonial Parkway to Jamestown. While we were on the Colonial Parkway, it started snowing really bad (almost a blizzard) but the sun was shining at the same time and blue sky was ahead. It was the strangest weather I've ever seen!
From Jamestown, we got on the ferry (Pocahontas), and rode to Surry County. At the Jamestown ferry dock, the kids spotted an Osprey sitting on her nest atop a group of pilings.

The view from the upper deck of the ferry.
