WOW! What a Storm!

We knew when we moved to Maryland that they receive more snow that we did in Virginia Beach. We didn't even own a snow shovel until Dec. 2009. Little did we know just how much snow the state of Maryland is capable of receiving...
This is on Feb. 5 -- the day the storm blew in.
A little bit of snow residue from our Dec. storm.
The kids were out there standing guard and doing snow landscaping.
Below is the progress of the storm at midnight.
And this is what we woke up to on Saturday, 6 February. Happy Anniversary Kirk!
So do you think it's true what they say? ....neither snow, sleet, wind, or rain....

Looks like Kelby is taking a break,

Okay, I'm guessing there will be no mail delivery.

No, we don't have one of those tall cargo vans ...

Neighbor across the street (can you see the street?). Notice the white truck parked in the driveway.

View from the top of our street.

Bright Snow Day. 2/7/10

Nellysa showing us how deep it is (the snow that is).

Many of the trees got so weighed down, they broke or fell.

Don't hit the snow bank ... it's a car.
There are two cars under that snow.
The High School
Our ward building
It's all ok as long as the kitties are comfortable.

I have one question .... where's the snow-blower Dad??

When we moved here, all our neighbors told us NOT to get a snowblower. It doesn't snow very much, you won't need it. We are really wishing we hadn't listened to them. Enjoy the snow, it will be hot and humid soon and we'll all be wishing it would cool off.

I can handle snow much easier than the darn humidity!
