Homecoming Dance

If Levi approaches you and asks you if you need to have your lawn mowed, suspect something. When it came time for Homecoming Dance this year, Levi approached the owner of this 1989 (Levi's birth year) Jaguar and offered him a mowing job in exchange for borrowing the Jag for his date to Homecoming. Apparently one of the 4 cars that we have around here, wasn't good enough.
As you can see, the exchange was a success and Levi brought the Jag home to wash and polish it.
He was pretty proud to be driving a Jag. That was Homecoming. What deal is he going to make for Senior Prom??

Krispy Kreme

My parents recently visited from Idaho.
The first time they came to visit after we moved here, we took them to get Krispy Kreme Donuts. My Dad was hooked!

He knows what the "HOT NOW" sign means when it lit. If it's not lit, they are stale (according to my Dad).

We usually make a "doughnut run" on the way home from the airport, at least once during the visit, and on the way back to the airport. It's tradition!

Laundry

I just talked to my 19 year old son, Clancy. We were going over the plans for the day. I was telling him that he needed to do a couple loads of laundry. Now, my kids have been doing laundry in some form since they were little. They have been taught to turn their clothes right-side out (they HAVE been taught), they were also taught to sort their laundry (whites, colors, jeans), and they were taught how to fold their laundry and put it away (really). While talking to Clancy, I reminded him to sort the clothes because he hasn't been doing really well at that lately. He said "I do sort". He then went on to explain that he knows that if you put reds with whites, they end up pink, etc. Then the clincher..... I sometimes put my blacks with the whites - "BECAUSE BLACK REALLY ISN'T A COLOR".
I just can't even respond to that. I am speechless. The End!

Mission Call

We have all been on pins & needles waiting for Clancy's mission call. In the perfect world, I could picture the papers coming in the mail, waiting until the whole family was together, Kirk calling and Clancy opening and reading the call so everybody could celebrate together. Well....Here is how it really went.

Clancy went to the mailbox on Wednesday - no letter, Thursday - no letter, and on Friday there was finally a letter. Levi and I were the only ones home and Clancy was going to rip it open, when I stopped him. "Wait!! You have to use a letter opener so it will be neat, and I have to get my camera, and you'd better go get Levi so someone from the family can wittness it." So much for the perfect world:-)

"Can I open it yet??"

"Do I want to know?"

"Hmm....let's see...."

It is to Boise, Idaho ... just kidding.
"You are assigned to labor in the Paraguay, Asuncion Mission""That's pretty cool! Where is Paraguay???"

This is the official mission call, and below is a map of South America. Paraguay is located in South America. He will be serving a Spanish speaking mission.

House Cleaning

HOW TO CLEAN THE HOUSE
1. Open a new file in your PC .
2. Name it "Housework."
3. Send it to the RECYCLE BIN.
4. Empty the RECYCLE BIN.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Are you sure you want To delete Housework permanently?"
6. Calmly answer, "Yes," and press mouse button firmly......
7. Feel better?
Works for me!

Is it broken?

I went to work yesterday and Levi dropped in which usually means that he needs money. He asked if I could come outside for a minute. This is what he showed me...

My first question was "are you hurt?" No
"Does it still open and close ?" Yes
"OK, have a good day at work."
(if it's not bleeding or broken, get up and go play :-)

Apparently as the students were filing out of the parking lot at one of his schools, a "ditzy" girl (Levi's words) slammed on her brakes in front of Levi to let her friend, "some other ditzy girl", get in the car. The full-sized truck that was behind Levi, was coming off a speed bump when all of this happened and hit the back of Levi's truck (I mean Kirk's truck that Levi drives).

Just never ends ;-)
